You are going to face death some day. You are going to face that last moment, barring Christ's return, where you are going to be terrified of sin, death, and the devil. In my 36 years I have been ALC, ELCA, LCMS and now WELS. I have come to realize that a synod cannot define a Confessional Lutheran, because we are defined by the Lutheran Confessions. Somehow I hope to make the case that it is now time for Quia Confessional Lutherans to break down the walls of "Synod" and once again walk in fellowship - a fellowship that is not defined by presidents and polity, both things that are not present in scripture and in the confessions - but rather a fellowship that is based on a common acceptance of Scripture as God breathed and without error and subscription to the 1580 Book of Concord, quia subscription to it, as the basis for fellowship and common belief.
